Upcoming Bloomsburg University Events



With the effervescent holiday of Valentine's Day approaching, I'd like to inform our readers of a few upcoming events relevant to our GSM!

As the purpose of the GSM is to study the social, cultural, and historical constructions of gender and its intersections with other constructions such as race, class, nation, and sexuality, these events are critically relevant to our readers:

Dr. Stacey Pearson-Wharton: "Mental Health in the Black Community":
In honor of Black History Month, Dr. Pearson-Wharton offers expertise and a positive approach for issues surrounding diversity, social justice, inclusion, and mental health to provide hope and healing in difficult times. This will be held on Tuesday, February 11th, 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Kehr Union Multicultural Center Room 230. Please consider coming out to learn more about these crucial issues!





Getting Juicy with Jake:
This workshop series addresses the most burning questions that students have and the topic of sex and relationships. Do not hesitate to ask questions about sex; there are no stupid questions about sex. These events will be held on Tuesday evenings: February 11th, 18th, 25th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in Bakeless 308. Please consider coming out to ask your burning questions about sex!




Stitch and B*tch:
This regular event encourages women to join the feminist fabriculture movement while acquiring knitting skills and resisting the patriarchy. These events are open to beginners and everyone of any knitting capability. These events will be held on Wednesday, February 12th, 19th, and 26th in the Women's Resource Center from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Please consider coming out to learn how to stitch and b*tch!





Galentine's Day:
Please come out and celebrate Galentine's Day with your gal pals! Held on Thursday, February 13th from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the Kehr Union Ballroom






The Well-Women Workshops:
Join Caroline Bohm as she explores stress reduction and management techniques for women! Held on Thursday, February 13th and 27th, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in Bakeless 108. Please join and learn how to better your inner self!
